V OPIP Meeting 2017 “Connecting ships, ports and people”

We congratulate the National Commission on Port Security and Maritime Security for holding its fifth OPIP meeting in the city of Managua.

Every year, evaluations are carried out on the security system of all Nicaraguan ports, in order to strengthen the capacities of attention to users, generating a climate of confidence in investors, which allows to analyze and act in high-risk situations, forming a shield of protection against drug trafficking. Obtaining good results because Nicaragua is the third country in the world after Israel and the United States to have the best security of its ports.

Servipro has participated consecutively in these meetings with the aim of obtaining to know the problems that may arise in these facilities and strengthen our capacities and quality management system to improve us in the day to day".

This meeting was attended by Servipro, our General Manager Mr. Mario Alonso Avilez, and Physical Security Manager Msc. Yamil Gutiérrez, who were awarded participation medals in recognition of the five meetings from 2013 to 2017.

With the realization of this activity, a recognition is made during life to the Engineer Rodolfo Ernesto Sandino, for his contribution and dedication to the vision of the National Port System. For his part, Engineer Sandino, dictated to those present on Port Security, and recalled anecdotes that happened during his stay in Puerto Corinto.

During the V OPIP Nicaragua 2017 Meeting, the Naval Force, the General Directorate of Customs Services, the Directorate of Aquatic Security and Regulation and the National Port Company participate, which will address issues related to maritime security, port equipment, and analysis of the procedures for the valuation of abandoned goods and the management of oily waste, among others.

The V meeting of OPIP 2017, was held from February 15 to 17 in the city of Managua.
